Second Sunrise - Hand Dyed in Scotland

£14.00

🧡 💜 🩷 Second Sunrise 🧡 💜 🩷

Second Sunrise is a hand-dyed 75% superwash merino wool and 25% nylon 4-ply sock yarn that combines soft next-to-skin comfort with the durability needed for everyday wear. This classic sock base offers the elasticity and warmth of merino wool with added strength and reinforcement from nylon — a blend that’s perfect for socks, fine accessories, and lightweight garments that stand the test of time.

These skeins are part of something quietly beautiful — colour-ways born from residual dyes, where nothing is wasted and everything is reimagined. After each dye session in the Thistle Yarns studio, I carefully save the remaining dye baths — the soft echoes of previous colour-ways — and use them to create new, unrepeatable skeins. It’s a slow, intentional process that honours every drop of pigment and every fibre.

This trio glows with peach, plum, and petal-pink — soft, harmonious, and full of warmth. Dyed in small batches in my Midlothian studio, they carry the spirit of renewal: of using what remains, of finding beauty in the unexpected, of crafting with care.

Perfect for shawls, accessories, or any project that calls for a touch of serendipity. These skeins won’t return — once they’re gone, they’re truly gone.
